Title: Dogs
Name: Laurent Pierlot
Country: USA
Software: 3ds max, Brazil r/s, Photoshop, ZBrush

here's the last still I did, some crazy guy feeding his...well "dogs" with a fat rat :)
I Used the usual techniques ,3D in ZBrush, renders in max and comp in photoshop. This image is from an old concept..I will scan it later and post it in the forum. It didn't take much time cuz the modeling with ZBrush is super fast and I textured most of it in photoshop.I think I still need a Background but maybe later... that's it for now(any ideas anyone?).hope you like it.

Wow man this is amazing! Great concept and the designs look awesome. The rat sort of looks like the dogs. And I notice that one of the dogs is chewing on another one lol. Great details and modeling. The lighting and texturing is very nice also. A definite 5 stars!

Great work, especially the "dogs"!
One crit for me would be the "rat".
IMO it doesn't look different enough from the "dogs". Looks like the dogs are fed with some relative ^^
Otherwise its really awesome ;)

HELP ME! I think I'll be electricated because of my drooling on my keybord!!!

:argh:

Agáin an veeery awesome piece of art, man! 5 stars, of course! :buttrock: Also, I really know for sure this will turn into frontpage!

I really really like you amazingly effective workflow (at least, it sounds like it's effective ;) ): things like texturing in Photoshop, and tweaking/creating the mood in Photoshop, is in my eyes really cool, smart ánd fast... I myself also like that way of working (trying to do as most as possible in the 2D-post-production of an image). Your way of working is just amazingly inspirable!

Good luck & I can't wait for your upcoming art!,

Grate work sato. Tell me why did you decide to use 3dsmax? By your work on your webpage and cv it looks like you were using Maya most of the time.

always love your work.
Would love to see a wireframe of your shot; do you use displacement in your models or render the full model at a crazy subdivision level that zbrush outputs? I can imagine renders take a while. Also, do you use SSS on your human skin (in many of your pics it looks like you do) or is that just clever post work that makes it look like you have?

I started working with Max When I came to Blur..so now I use Max..but I use Maya some time.
I render everything with subsurface from Brazil, full divided mesh from ZBrush...no displace.
The render time are not crazy..I render one element at a time and with different lights..Area,Spots and skylight and then composite all in toshop..

Looks like it could be a album cover. It's very twisted amd morbid. Kinda reminds me of a puppet master pullin strings on his puppets but I see the there is a metaphorical steing being dangled above the poor rapid pets. Great work I like your imagination.

ok no problem :) here is a google translate : it is still very good job I adore cheer! It is well that gives motivation after working to the maximum.

hmmmm not bad but the words are not in the right order ;) I was just telling to laurent that his work was very good, like all the others. And it is very interesting for us because that encourages to work more and more. I definitly think that blur has very talented guys :) (and girls..)

Hehe, ty... I should have stayed in french class a little longer. All forgotten now. You are absolutely right though. Work like this does inspire more to come up with something that rivals. Personally I never had so much fun on perusing forums as I have here. I believe the best are here. Work like this makes me proud to be a human being!

And the dogs are all really scary man!!! I wonder how the mouse is feeling.. LOL

5 stars from me too! :) But,oh man, why does it always have to be hell-like creatures in the paintings? i hate them, the're ugly and nasty! why don't you paint fairies and pixies (like Linda :)) ) huh ? :))
Just kidding man!:D Good painting! Good luck with next one! take care!

correct me if I'm wrong. I think those are some oversized rats rather than dogs. they used to be the same size as that little rat, but probably they had some cell modification or something and that guy is a scientist. great job. nothing left to say.

i think it's great without a background..it's dark and gives great focus to the content...but still you feel like there's some enchanting setting they're in...but the image is busy..so..i think you did just fine like this.
