twdsgn 10-30-2002, 02:41 PM Hiya.
I know, the model is too simply, but my objective in these scene is to make it photorealistic.
What do you thing?

very nice... very photoreal for sure...
only two tiny things which bug me a bit:
- i dont dig the DOF that much. maybe because its been so overused by now
- the table looks a bit flat. maybe add a tiny bit of specularity or some reflections to it ?
just two small suggestions... otherwise really nice job. i dig the grainy bump on the black disk.. looks very real

It looks very good. Maybe you could scale the wood grain down a bit. It's so large that the diskettes look like they're the size of coins.
Otherwise, good job!

the black side of the disc, ant the table looks fantasic. I hate working with black surface. What textures you use? any bump? reflection map?
However, the white side of the disc is abit too much noise.

thx for the coments.
HapZungLam: To make the black material, I used a little diffuse reflection, and some cellular bump.
The scene was modeled in Rhinoceros, however i use V-ray for the render.
Here a little screenshot.

photoreal!...as the ppl said above...little fix in the DOF. I have a lil to say abt the Noise, either is lil too much or maybe its the quality of the pic...specially over the pink side.
overall good stuff..
Yoda like the disks a lot its just the table i would like to see changed to a darker wood mahagony would be good with a high gloss finish and provide a chance for some good reflections to add life to the finished project well done:thumbsup:

WoW, Just goes to show you, It doesn't matter what the subject matter is. This is very convincing I want to pick it and put it in my pocket.

I like it very much, althought the subject is simple, but the composition is neat!
Would be perfect for a PC Magazine's front cover! :applause:

Very nice [yoda]
My favorite part is the label.. It is not on straight. And that, my friend, is wonderful attention to detail.
Keep up the GREAT work!! :scream:

First I must say very nice. :applause:
My only suggestion would be a little dust.
No matter how new or clean something is in real life there is always a little dust on it and or maybe a mirco scratch.
Just a suggestion thought looks great already.

ppl complained about the dof, i think its usage is fine, because if you take a photo of such scene , that is what you will get with a macro or zoom lens, you will see this much blur in my opinion. even if you have zoom more you may have seen more blur in the background . is it photoreal? well i think it looks like photo of those reallife objects. the onlything bothers is those sharp looking edges, not sharp but really clean straight edges . even the most clear photos may not have really sharp edges due to grain on film. and we compare reality based on photographic or not. but when you look with your naked eyes you do not see an grain for sure.
Lovely renders. Very real:applause:

Yoda, that is beautiful work indeed. Simple is sometimes the most artistic!
Mindphaser, why don't you start your own thread instead of trying to steal someone else's.
