i did this in about 3-4 minutes just quick testing of my wacom tablet. First time actually trying to paint something, i was wondering if n e one has any tips for a painting in PS-CS2. Ill keep practicing, see what i can do. One other thing, can someone foward me to a tutorial on color mixing? to get realistic details and things of the kind. thx

as for tips on using the software: check out the photoshop forum here at cgtalk,
blending techniques .. hmm check out this ... http://forums.cgsociety.org/showpost.php?p=2481277&postcount=4

but be sure to search for other resources on that topic respectively TRY IT OUT YOURSELF,
not every technique works best for everyone, and it always takes time to find your own style.

dont use soft edge brushes like you did in your sketch. they do have uses, but try to avoid them whenever possible. always keep your hardness to 100%. also avoid using the paint bucket unless you are covering the entire canvas.

other than that we cant give you too much advice on a piece you only spent a few minutes on. Go to the Daily sketch forum (a sub forum of the WIP 2d) and join in with the sketches. Its a great place to learn.
