View Full Version : Please help...reverse motion blur...
sepehr 10-30-2002, 02:17 PM Hi
How is it possible to render in reverse order?
i.e 300 to 0
I have made an animaton of particles which need to be rendered
or keyframed in the reverse way.
The problem is correct motion blur.
(If there ware no motion blur I could simply rename the rendered images...)
Looking forward to hearing from you.
I'm in hurry...
Thnx

could you post some pics or link to avi...i could probably help you a little more if I could see what you were trying to achieve. It may be just a matter of setting it up different with your particles/spacewarps, etc...

Make with the blur in post?
If you want to spend the effort you could render to RPF format, saving the velocity channel. Using that will get you some sort of proper 3d motion blur, although often a standard 2d motionblur looks very nice imo.
I'm guessing at a minimum Combustion knows how to use such a channel to create proper motion blur, though I haven't tried it specifically. I've.. no idea if After Effects or Digital Fusion or whatnot supports the RPF format.
Anyways, just a thought..

why can't you do it in the trackview?
From memory...
In 'Edit Keys' mode, select 'Move Keys'.
Expand all objects, click, hold and drag every dot in the first frame and release.
Over any square it should change from < O > to < 0 . Then just move it past the last frame - if it was a 100 frame animation - just dump the first frame at frame 200.
That should do it.
If you have PRMan you can use Maxman.
It has a motionblur blur with Backward/Centred/Forward options. Unfortunately its slow.

Hi and thnx for your attention.
I've attached a pic (WIP)
There are lots of keys so I feel lazy to copy paste them in reverse order.
Hey I remembeed that this is impossible to be donewhen you're using particles cuz they generate and spread, right?
And for the 2D motion blur:
Because of very fast motions I have to render 10 times more frames to achieve a good looking 2D motion blur.
I'm using Vray for rendering...
It seems the only way is the last one...
