View Full Version : CG character_Amon the Boxer
Amon, name of the character, is a personnal project i'm working on for different applications, mainly illustrations.
The biggest part of the texturing was done with photoshop (in fact, just a basic skin-shader under maya, a bit of time to add lights, and a lot of fun with my old penpartner).
For this character, i didn't want to spend time on skinning, boning, and all that stuff that is not my favourite part.
there won't be any animations before a while.
Hope you'll like him.

Excellent stuff, looks like you've got a traditional art background there e338
No criticism at all. More please.:)
thanks Jonny Bubonic!
I was working with traditionnal stuff before going to CG.
And it's a kind of comeback to illustration. I want to put a larger part of drawing in my work, like in the beginnings ;)

I like him. The picture has a very cool style going on.
Very interested to see more.

wow! Very nice.. I like the style.. some crazy colours.. but they match quite well. The JPG compression kills quite a bit of it I think.
jpeg kills but it would'nt change a lot of things if it was better. original picture is a A3 300dpi, so details can't survive screen publication. in the meantime, that gives a cool dirty texture :)
here is a detail of the first picture.
these are some screenshots, to see the mesh without any post-process. rough opel Gl Preview, with or without smoothing.
it's been a long time i haven't been working on him. He desperatly lacks a good skeletton.

Il a un côté 'sec et nerveux' très réussi ! :p
je te remercie monsieur!!!
ça doit être un pote à Iggy Pop.
je ne voulais pas d'un bodybuildé.
thank you monsieur!
He might be friend with Iggy Pop
I didn't want a bodybuilder.

Great image. Nice model.
My one comment is about the model, not the image. The muscles on the models back look a little out of whack, even for the obviosly stylized aproach you took with the other muscle groups. There is just something off with the muscle lumps on the side that are about halfway up the back of the torso.
P.S. He looks like he should have been in the movie "Fight Club"

very unique style you got there e338... I really like it, show us more!
let's say there's a friend from Amon under construction.
I feel like i want to develop a bit this serie of illustrations.
Let's have a look at this one then, which is in fact the first of the serie.
Freely inspired in the post-painting-process, by Mr Simon Bisley. Respect!
so now we have number one, number 2&3.
but! there are four pictures! Where's the last one???
