Hello everyone, I was just curious when Light Wave 3D 8 Modeling : A Definitive Guide by Steve Warner will bereleased... I have Inside Lightwave by Dan Ablan, and Essential Lightwave by Timothy Albee, but I am really interested more in the modeling aspects that is covered fully in Steve Warners book. Thanks.

I think they'll skip v8 and release a modeling book for v9. Would you publish a book for an old app when a new version is already out?

Thanks for the interest guys. We had plans to get the book out this fall and were moving forward with that. But just as I got started, NewTek announced LightWave 9, and some of the modeling changes porjected are truly significant. So we debated about what was best to do, and in the end it was decided that we should skip the 8 series and instead, focus on getting the 9 book out as close to the release of LW9 as possible.

I apologize for the delay. I know how disheartening that can be. This project has been a long time in the works and no one wants to get it finished more than me. The best I can offer is that with the extra wait will come a more comprehensive guide.

Thanks again for your interest. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to email me at steve@stevewarner.com.

All my best,

Steve
