I love the concept of this piece. I don't like the way the angels look at all though. The cloud looks very ominous and evil and then the angels look....cartoony. I would put them in the cloud and make them more like people. Bring the camera in, maybe looking down the shaft of the cloud with the angels flying up it. Right now they look way too cliche like they belong on the top of a christmas tree. It is an awsome idea, but the way they look, the piece almost looks funny.

Although tragic, the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki ended the war quickly and therefore, saved many American soldiers lives.

Although defeated, the Japanese refused to surrender and would have caused an island invasion with tremendous amounts of American and Japanese casualties.

See, I'm not going into this, cause politics is sort of banned on CGTalk. Just like to add that your theory is controversial debated (though not so much in the US) and there are a lot of opposing views on this topic (even by important military people / generals of that time).

@cszetela : am neither going to get into that topic here as it simply doesnt belong here...but your comment makes it pretty damn hard not to call you names that are prolly banned here...

considering the image i gotta say that i love the idea and concept too, but would prefer seeing a rather "abstract" look for the angels. Anyways a great idea.

Name calling? My opinion is a reaction from an editorial illustration, which in itself is a strong opinion. Can artists not discuss an illustration in the arena of ideas? Take a deep breath and relax. The world has many views. Do not post a controversial image and not expect a controversial reaction. Think the next time you post.

One whole hour spent on honouring the victims of the Hiroshima bomb?

@cszetela (member.php?u=126703) : I did not post the image. I just felt pissed off by your comment. Go read it again it contains not a SINGLE WORD about the picture it is ONLY your political view.
