I have been setting up a rig where the skeleton is broken at wrist, arms, hips, and ankles. but when i am setting up the FK-IK with the reverse foot on the legs i get problems since the LegIK (from hip to ankle) and Ball_IK (ankle to ball) and toe_Ik are not on the same chain since the hierarchy is broken at the ankle.

are there any suggestions on how to setup up the broken hierarchy FK-IK foot ?

should have what you need.

to be sure, you should have 3 skeletons (1 FK, 1 IK, 1 painted geometry on it.)

and you're basically animating point and orient constraints on the Painted Geometry one.

ok, this post needs to be awaken from the dead :wip:

are there any FREE materials available that any o'y'all people know about??? any tutorials? broken rigs are supercool and there should be more info on them... but I'm having a hard time finding stuff. This is what I managed to find:
http://accad.osu.edu/~xchang/753/hw7/broken_rig.html
but it's a highly incomplete tutorial.
please, please, if anybody knows stuff about these broken rigs, anything really, please post :D

the way I usually do it is have 2 ankle joints on top of each other, one in the leg chain and one in the foot chain.

what you can also do is connect the foot chain to the bind chain of the leg for a 3 leg IK-FK switch
