It's been two years since my last attempt at modeling, which was posted here (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?s=&postid=772863). I never did finish it. I want to start practicing again, so I started putting together another space vehicle yesterday in order to teach myself. To give proper credit, this one is loosely inspired by some of Feng Zhu's older ship sketches.

Heres a quick wire side shot showing the beginning of the basic hull:

More to come as I have the time.

Me too. I've been away from modelling for about three years.

You can do it!!!

It was painful for me to learn the tricks again, but now that I've log many hours I feel like it's starting to come back (it's like riding a bike).

Check out my demon WIP. I've had to revise, revise, and revise.

It's hard in the beginning because you make mistakes in the geometry, where as when you where doing it years ago you won't have done those mistakes.

Give it time. It'll come back.

Thanks for the encouragement, your model is looking good! I'm sure I'll have to start and restart a few projects before I actually finish anything. It's hard to get started again when you've been looking at so much great talent on CGTalk for years, it's a lot to live up to.
