I'm having some difficulty getting a bitmap stretch with a mesh plane. (See attached image)

I know using a 'XYZ to UVW' mapping works for procedural textures, but it doesn't seem to work with a bitmap.

I am deforming the mesh by using a non-uniform scale on the verticies. ...probably not the most orthodox way, but it allows me a certain amount of precision/control that I am after.

Is your UVW Modifier above or below the stretching operation? The Modifier Stack is a semi-linear procedural stack, so if you want your map to stretch with the deformation, then make sure it's properly applies the mapping before the stretch operation.

thanx Brandon... that was it. I added another mesh modifier after the uvw map.
