This is the main antagonist for a game concept I am working on. After getting zero feedback on the companion image for this in the finished forums, I figured I would take this one back into the shop for more work. Any ideas on how to improve this image would be great.
I was going for a kind of Golden Axe meets Shadow of the Beast update

Wow i like it so far. I would suggest going in and adding detail to the cliff in the back. Also adding some shiny spots on his armor, even if only on some trim (makes him look more spectacular). And lastly.. draw all the grass! :)
Can't wait to see your updates. :D

o wow, thats really cool.
maybe make the sword more shiny and metal like, that and there seems to be light comming from the base of the rock wall behind him... the top part of that wall looks a bit sharp...and the fog is a little confusing to me. but these would be really small changes i think..
i really like this, awesome textures

Thanks for the comments!
Lord Blue: I really like the idea of painting in the grass, and I think you are right about shining up the armor a bit
yulias: The idea of this location is that he is standing in the center of a HUUUGE volcano's caldera, where the snow capped mountains in the background represent the rim. The fog/steam is caused by waterfalls flowing into the hot lava

his silhouette is a little lost right now. give him more contrast value versus background will help.

That is one amazingly well-painted concept! You have some incredible talent there!

I tried a bunch of different things on this image but none of them improved it. I think I may just darken the recedeing sections of armor and punch up the highlights on the protruding parts.
Thanks for the compliments!
Mordy, if you are still reading this thread, you need to finish your game.
