this is my guitar and amp, taken about 14 hours to model - 12 hours (guitar) and 2 hours(amp).
Guitar model: Maverick F-1
Amp Model: Marshall 30W Valvestate
Render time: 6mins 34 seconds

the scenery in this pic is just so it reflects something.

nice job, and a very nice guitar you got there. first of all, the spacing on the frets is completely random, and there seems to be a lack of fretmarkers, since the fretboard is a very large part of the guitar, you should emphasise on it more :wip:
But the main body shape looks very accurate, very good job on getting that right.. but the floyd rose looks a bit flat, is that right? The sunburst painjob is really nicely done, and on the whole, the textures are nicely done, but the head is sadly lacking.

Generally great model, good work m8!

I've attached a pic showing top and side views of a 24 fret neck, which i used for my guitar's fret placement and head shape, I cant remember where I got this from, but it is from some site, and i dont know if attaching someone else's pictures is legal or what but, anyway, i will remove if requested.

ok I've been playing for 17 years, so I can t pass up this one..

as mentioned above, youre frets are wayyyy off...just look up some pics on the net to get em right...

the body looks pretty accurate..(ibanez custom?)
if its an ibanez then the floyd trim is probably a replica and not a real floyd, but it is possible.

the other thing is the width of the neck looks a bit wide.....it actually looks about as wide as a classical acoustic... so you might want to check that.

the amp looks fairly accurate as well, but could probably use some bevels, it loks a little hard edged.

over all the pic is too clean, I dont care for the brick wall texture.
so muddy up the textures a bit, and get rid of the bricks...

keep up the good work..!!:airguitar

You've got a great start to an image, and I would hate to see you put it down now! Biggest suggestions will be in regards to your textures. Dirty them up! The Marshall logo is really clean, and if you decide to stick with the brick wall, bang it up with some bump maps and some dirt/grime. Same goes for the Wall to floor piece. That doesn't seem very realisitic to me, remodel it with some ridges or somthing, or at least texture it up. :) The head of the guitar is the weakest modeling aspect, but a good start. Overall I think you'll have a killer image when you put those touches on it, good work, and keep us updated! :)

It's a Maverick, you wont have heard of it because it's a British company, but they make hella good guitars, check em out here (http://www.maverickguitars.co.uk), and they do authentic floyds on the trem bridged models. :airguitar

Maverick, huh? First I have heard of them.

They have some cool looking tone and volume pots.

Nice pic kassinopious, keep it up. I don't really dig the angle you choose, but whatever, that no big deal, hope you put up some updates. What's the radius on the thing? Looks supa flat, does it play fast?

not too sure what u mean by radius, but the action above 24th fret is about 1.7 mm the frets are super jumbo sized, pickups are duncan design tuned hums bridge is flayd rose II maverick custom

body is basswood, 3 piece neck/head setup.

and yeah, it plays damn fast :D the solo to 'one' by metallica is nothing for it :)

The radius on a guitar, is in reference to the fret/fingerboard, in particlular the curvature on the frets between the high and low strings.

Most metal players (I know) like flatter fingerboards with low action, allowing you the faster play and it allows you to bend a little easier. So like Ibanez, Gibson, from the looks of it Maverick kinda lend themselves to the flatter side. Though I don't think of Gibson as a metal guitar really, but they do have kinda flat fingerboards. Now Fender (the company I work for) tends to have a rounder finderboard 9.5 inch radius on a Strat for instance. I think it is a little more comfy, for my tastes, but I don't really thrash it up that much. It really is just a matter of how a neck feels to you. The next time you in a guitar shop pick up a Vintage Telecaster and feel how round the fingerboard is, then pick up a Maverick or Ibanez and feel how flat the fingerboard is, that is the best way to explain radius. Anyhow, that's probably more than you ever wanted to know, but happy modeling, and keep up with the monster chops Rockstar.
