What does the "uv snapshot script" do, out of curiosity?

I'ts a script that takes a "uv snapshot" of your model, wich makes texturing & painting much easier. Basically, it unwraps your model.

What version of maya are you using? Just in case you overlooked it, that tool is built into the uv texture editor now, at least in 4.0 and up.

Yea, that figures. I'm running 3.5.1 on the mac. Altho i have 4.5 on order, and am expecting it literally within the next day or two. *sigh* i guess i'll just wait. Thanks for the info though. Nice to know that it's built right in & i don't need a separate script.

When you get it, open the uv texture editor and you will find it at the very bottom of both the "Polygons" and the "Subdivs" menu. It is a helpful tool.
You might be able to get away with a screencap for now, if you just wanted to test things. Just crop it square along the [0,1] borders
