Fairyland Animation Studio

(China) Fairyland Animation. was established in April 2005. Being through the proactive preparation , We decided to produce a serial of original animated cartoon <<Q LOG>> . On the meanwhile for supporting Olympic 2008 , we are proactively planning the series of <<Q LOG>>, with different sports to show the various Olympic item., And now , we have concentrated on producing <<Q LOG>> series 001---Fishing , 002---Apply , 003---Hunting , hoping it can be accepted by all the audience. And welcome to give us some precious suggestions.

Father and son was fishing in a summer beach, but the fish was so smart that the father start to lost his temper……

I loved it....the music was right on the money...so where the textures and bright colors...

We have made it for two months with MAYA together five co-worker, and the plenty more place need to be improve，And welcome to give us some precious suggestions。

Very cool. I like the overall design of the environment and the characters. They're like cute little cavemen. Very nice texturing. What did you guys use to create the fur?

Great work guys! I love the look of the series. The hair is great too. As far as the animation, I only a had couple of problems with it at the end of the short.

1. After he throws the ax and realizes that he isn't going to get the apple, he looks dejected and walks off screen. If that is what you are going for, he just doesn't look sad enough. Try making that mood stronger.

2. When he runs back on screen and grabs the tree, I think there should be more impact. He's running full speed at the tree and then suddenly stops in front of it and grabs the tree gently. Have him throw his whole body at the tree from the run, don't have him stop. Or, at the very least, you could just use your current animation, have him stop in front of the tree, but have him grab the tree harder, putting more of his body into it.

3. Lastly, when the objects fall on his head, I'm not feeling the impact. I realize that the objects aren't very heavy, but if they are going to knock him out, he should react to them more. His body should move more when the objects hit him.

Other than those things, I really loved the short. I can't wait to see the other ones you are working on.

Animation, charactors, hair, envirenment, are very good.

hey, awesome work !!! so happy to see such nice animation from motherland. yes, if you guys had more time , it could be improved, but now it's already really great short. never been to Wu Han, Im from Shanghai, now in Vancouver. looking forward to seeing more masterpieces from you guys. keep it up !! :buttrock:

I agree with the crits by FatFatFatguy (hope I got his name right).

When the character foreshadows throwing his axe, he looks in the wrong direction... he should be looking up a lot more. As it is -- he looks like he's TRYING to hit the tree.

The sudden stop as he charges the tree (before he hits it) is very jarring. Indeed, I'd consider have him shake the tree ... then leave in disgust ... then bellow offstage ... and then charge it -- BANG -- dazed. Apple falls. Turns around, but still woozy. Sandal falls. Axe falls.
