View Full Version : couple of Q's about biped & adding max bones

hi, i'm not sure if this is possible to do with char. studio, but if you check out the first two pics below, i want to rig the red & green boxes so they link between the figure's waist & the gun, & set it up so the gun can be animated & the biped's arms follow & the boxes move as an IK chain.

not sure if you can add IK to a biped, i think only FK (the biped freezes up when you turn on max's interactive IK button).

also, if you look at the shoulderpad on the right with the red outline, would it be possible to have the pad pivot about the position of the green cross in just one plane of rotation, while the upper arm rotates freely? i'd imagine you'd do someting like create a bone for the shoulderpad that pivots about the helper & has an end effector that's affected by just one plane of rotation of the upper arm.

i'd really appreciate any insight, thanks

Forget the rigging for a moment, that's one nice low-poly character youve got there! Very clean indeed!:thumbsup:

I'll have to check once I'm at work, but I'm pretty sure you can set up a linked IK chain as long as you don't try to link it to the pelvis/Bip01 object. Have you tryed linking it to the lowest spine node?

As for the shoulderpad... I'd have to think!:D
