On sunset one can you tell me how he created the hills on the ground object. The object is flat in modeler but he seems to do it with volumetrics

Haven't looked at the scenes but did you check and see if he was using displacement maps?

Kaiser,
select the ground object, click the Deform tab, and you will see that the Displacement Map texture "T" is active. He is using a simple Turbulence procedural on the "Y" axis.
