In other news, Serenity will have his worldwide premiere at the International Film Festival in Edinburgh, UK on August 22. Multiple screenings were sold out in a matter of hours and additional screenings were sold out insanely fast as well. The Daily Telegraph has chosen Serenity as the Top Pick for the festival.

The movie was pretty darn good. Shiny. ;) I got the chance to see it when I went to Comic-Con a couple of weeks ago. Met Joss Whedon, too. heh.
BTW, I had NOT watched the Firefly series at all before I saw the movie...although I'd had several friends recommend it to me. School and work got in the way. The movie was much better than I expected (based on what I'd seen of the earlier trailers) and I'm watching the series now. So far so good!
Looking forward to seeing the movie again come September!

The single best character wasn't in one frame of that trailer! I think it's gonna flop just like the show! But I am sure it will still be great just like the show. I give it 2 weeks in theatres!
The masses won't get it. But then again they never do....

Best trailer yet! :)
And this is a REALLY great movie. I got to see one of the advance screenings. One of the best sci-fi/action movies I've ever seen.

I give it 2 weeks in theatres!Serenity's budget is only 40 million, so it doesn't even have to do that well to be considered a success. Look at Hellboy, it had 66 million budget and only made 59 million in the States, but was considered a success and is getting a sequel. Thats the nice thing about a lower budget movie, you don't have to do much to be considered sucessful.
As long as it breaks even in the States, it will make money overseas and on video.
