Here's the deal: I'm a young hooligan, and i've showed my after effects stuff and 3D (made in cinema 4D) showreel to a company. They've said to me that my reel shows potential, but it needs a little work. They've told me to concentrate on the 3D side, and to "boost my overall 3D skill."

So my question is: what exactly will an employer look for in a reel? Particularly animation wise, since they mainly work on music videos/ads.

Hard thing to judge without seeing your reel!

How about you upload it and let us view it for critique, you will get comments on your current reel, and also suggestions on what is missing/should be taken out!

Ah. Sorry for the long delay between my last post.

I was just hoping for a more general answer (this is also part of an animation assesment i'm working on for uni). I don't have any character animation (i'm working on that), my work is mainly just interior scenes and motion graphics. I may upload the reel later. I'm on 28k right now...
