Can anyone tell me what's causing this checkerboarding when I render in mental ray?
Notice that it's not in my steps, only on the ground tiles.

Here are my settings:
Mental ray render prefs:
Final Gather Rays 406, rebuild is on
reytracing on, max trace depth 3

Single spot light source with Raytrace shadows on: light radius 1.0, rays 10, depth limit 4

no GI or shadow map

Which shaders do you use ? I could be wrong but i heard about the problem which MR has when dealing with Maya native layered shader/texture...:shrug:
