Hey Guys,
Would really appreciate any help/suggestions i can get with this problems as its destroying my will to live!
Ok, im modelling, rigging, skinning and animating low poly characters in Max 5 for use in a computer game. Im then using a program called 'Deep Exploration' (multi-file exporter) to convert the Max files to Direct X format. Here's the process im following (see attached image):
1) Character is modelled in neutral position. XForm's are then reset.
2) Character is then rigged and skinned in this position.
3&4) So far, so good - character bends/animates nicely. If i render the thing it looks fine.
5) When i open the file in Deep Exploration i get this problem! The torso seem's to be squashing for some reason, although all the other body parts look OK. If you compare this pic with pic 3 in the Max model you can see the torso mesh extends all the way up to the base of the neck bone. In Pic 5 (Deep Exploration) you can see that the mesh has been squashed so much you can see alot of the top green spine bone.
Anyone know what could be going on? Hopefully it dosent involve re-skinning as ive just spent the last 2 weeks skinning :(
