View Full Version : Christmas card - santa at a BBQ
funkychild 10-29-2002, 03:22 AM I'm designing the Christmas cards for the company I work for (http://www.odysseytelevision.com) again this year (I'm the webmaster/designer but also do some print design tasks as well). I had the idea of a CG cartoony santa standing at the barbeque cooking sausages, while the barbeque has the company's logo on it. There will be about 1000~1500 printed to go out to all our business partners, distributors, etc.
For you northern hemisphere dwellers wondering what the significance is: Here in Australia, Christmas is always in the middle of summer and the sorts of things we associate with Christmas probably differ to your wintery things :)
I'm still yet to lay it out in Illustrator with text on the front and a message on the inside, but the front cover illustration is done anyway.

im just stating my view and comment, i dunno about the rest, probably i dun know about your company but the company logo on the barbeque looks out of place? As a newbie i didnt figure out it was your company logo till i read what you said. I personally would like some room space to the right and bottom.
Like you said, christmas in Australia differs from elsewhere. What i feel is that though different, Christmas always makes you feel welcoming and full of joy? I'm not sure bad that is just some thoughts... A night scene of the sky with stars would be cool.
I'm just giving my comments, overall the card is progressing, pretty cool. Hope I helped some way or the other, no offence.

Actually after talking to some co-workers, I will alter the logo slightly, but actually make it more subtle rather than more bold. As I said, it'll be sent out to our business partners etc who will already be quite familiar with the logo, so there's no worries there. Glad you guys like it (yes it is supposed to be tongue-in-cheek/funny) :)

He needs a gravy stain on the shirt. That would be money.
