Hey!

Me and a friend (sup johny?!) have decided to make a couple of low poly heads for practice. This is my 3rd head texture and your feedback would be appreciated.

Your basic colours and shading are great, but the skin is looking a little smooth. I'd try and break it up a little with some noise, maybe some variation in skin tone, and perhaps some moles and freckles.

For realism you might want to make the eyes less saturated, and i'd also lower the top eyelid a little more. The amount that the eyelid covers the iris/pupil is directly related to how alert a character will look, and at the moment it's just slightly more surprised than a neutral face shape. You may also need to lower the brightness on the eye white (it's surprising how grey the white in eyes really is), but I can't be sure about that until I see what the desaturated iris looks like.

I'd also look at reworking the eyebrows. I always find them tough to paint so I appreciate the difficulty in getting them right, but at the moment you kind of have the hairs going all vertical, where in reality as eyebrows get further out towards the side of the head, the hairs go horizontal. They're also more like blocks of hair, with quite a lot of variation in colour and with some sharp specular highlights on each hair strand.

But anyway, overall this is definitely a great start. :)

Good start, now some things I would do is.

- Add some grit and some skin defects ect with over lays ect. and second some facial hair.
- Revamp the eyes alittle add more detail to them like the tiny red viens
- Change some of the tones on the fase to darker coloured skin.

Thanks for the feedback, this is still in progress, so much of what you said are issues i wanted to fix: eyebrows are temporary so i know where to put them, "dirt" and beard i left out cuz i wanted a good base before adding them in.

Now that i look at it, seems like the extra color tones i added arent that much visible. Updates later, cheers!.
