This sketch turned into a perspective practice for me. Instead of trying to find a reference photo with a right angle I set up a simple two point perspective and started working from there. I noticed that I really really need to practise perspective more. I'm not sure how much time I used working on this pic, but it took me way way too long.

I was planning to make the plane look more funky but I ran out of energy. I'm sure you guys can think of something more creative. :)

Photoshop as usuall.

TheDagger:  Your rocket seems to be racing a Tsunami. Gorgeous colors, and shading. The perspective works too. :D (It's awesome).

rawwad: Blue Camoflage so nobody will see the plane. The DSG UFO. We can abduct other forums and practice probing. :applause:

vikkie: Batman is a DSG member. Nice subdue color scheme and flames.

gomez21:  Amazing design and shading. The Scramjet would have the skin peeling off our heads. Which would make for yet another DSG topic, drawn with our fluids, or those of the person sitting in the next seat.

I started mine, figuring we could save manufacturing costs, and use scrap parts from Air and Space dumps, or "borrow" from Aviation Museums:

Three plus hours, disobeying explicit instructions, Photoshop.

Also, master sketch guru danielh68 is spilling all his beans. Check it out. It's brilliant:

Tomorrow, everyone paint like Dan. :applause:

Ahahaha, That's funny ravioli. Love the design of the plane. I like the pilot and the passengers. Maybe you can add some shadow of the upper wing on the passengers so they don't look floating.

The Dagger - your rendering skill is awesome. It looks very real.
rawwad - Nice job with the plane. You made it look 3 dimensional. Something I couldn't do successfully with mine.:)

Both vikkie and gomez21's sketches remind me of Thunderbirds.:D

I was gonna skip this topic because I got confused about what to do. But I rarely draw machines or vehicles so I thought this would be a good practice for me.

It's hard to draw straight lines.

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a244/pipikon/corporateshuttle.jpg

It took like 2 hours and 45 minutes on this one. I'm happy with it, i guess. I need to learn how to paint ocean waves.

Nice one, doomdragon!:)

doomdragon: Well designed machine, logo and color scheme. Hopefully the bird won't sully it with a bogey.

pipichu: Shadows added. Thanks for the help. Stellar work from you, as always. The perspective on the gull (and the plane, for that matter) is eye-grabbing. And though your style seems to work best with more flowing, organic lines, if your really want straight lines, just put a small plastic ruler on your wacom, or use the Photoshop line or pen tools. Though I don't think the result will look quite as energetic or meaningful. Then again, you just have a knack for making elements cooperate. :applause: Oh, and your saturated colors are marvelous. :bounce:

rawwad: Nice work with the shading.

vikkie: I think your design could work as a combined air/spacecraft and a submarine. Considering the range of topics we have here on DSG it's useful to be able to travel through different environments. :D

gomez21: Wow. Your design is awesome. I want to have one of those. (I hope they don't cost too much.)

ravioli_rancher: Hahah. Now that is something I call an airplane. It's not for the faint-hearted though. Great idea and good colours. I love it.

doomdragon: Good job on making the plane look really fast. And the bird is a great addition to the picture.

pipichu: That is definetely a Daily Sketch plane. Excellent design and I can't but love your style. Really nice work as always.

Don Diego: The plane looks like it's gigantic. I think it'd look really nice if there were a "small" normal plane flying next to it. Make way! DSG coming through! :)

Ok I have more time for some comments now. So as I always like to read some comments to my sketches I'll better do some also. :D
Wow I'm always enjoying the varity in the sketches everyone does for the same topic.

TheDagger: Really nice lighting and shading. Great perspective too.

rawwad: nice color scheme, that would look great in reality if we could find someone to paint it on a plane.

vikkie: hehe, really looks like batman would use it like ravioli said, he'd just have to paint it black.

gomez21: Cool style, that thing looks really powerfull. I like that technical look of it.

ravioli: that's just great, I like the style, the colours and those little guys are too funny. Thx for your comment btw, don't worry that bird knows how to behave. I gave him some simple rules befor I drew him.

doomdragon: oh wait thats me.

pipichu: weeh so lovely colors as usual. Im always enjoying your sketches, and that you are doing them so frequently. You really got a nice painting stlye. And you got a bird in there too, every picture of a plane should have one. ;)

Don Diego: That's a mean looking cockpit. I like the big "DSG" and the red glow on the site.

Reinier: Oh, you are back, and what an excellent sketch you brought with you. hehe.
Cool Zeppelin, and great lighting especially on that tower. It's very important to relax every now an then, so feel free to do more sketches again. It's always appreciated. ;)

O.K. I got a little carried away with the time on this one. Before I knew it I put in almost 5 hours on this thing and I could have kept going (never did get to the inside of the engine.)

I decided to do this one while waiting for the new topics to post this morning. I don't do many mechanical objects so it was fun to step out of my comfort range for once.

4 hours 45 minutes, in Painter 9

Thanks everyone, and great job on your sketches (especially Reinier and Novacaine.)
