View Full Version : render material and texture from highpoly on to a lowpoly?

hello,

my question is is it possible to render the material and textures, in a lightsetup, from an highpoly object onto a single texture for a lowpoly object similar to the "normal mapping" but just texture information nothing else...?
i just want to have a seamless texturing on my lowpoly object.

Yeah should be exactly the same procedure as rendering normal maps from a high res to a low res model. The projection mod and render to texture combination should allow you to render any combination of render elements including lighting and diffuse colour.

I haven't personally tried exactly this, but it should be much as described. I generally do it from meshsmoothed models to low res versions of the same model using the same mapping, I've also baked down multiple projections to a single map.
