So, is it me - or does it look like the Great Mr Worley (he whose first name we are not fit to speak) has listened to his followers and tweaked the interface? It looks like a standard LW window in this vid...

well the videos are outstanding. it also seems to me that a full Fprime/Lw integration will be coming soon as the SDK gets more opened. a thig that i would like to see soon is f prime preview in lw viewports.

Previously, FPrime would respond to changes in only half a second or so, but now FPrime can react over five times faster.

Thank goodness! I hated waiting that half second. LOL

THIS is exciting and I can't wait for this. YOWZA!

I foresee a wave of translucent renders made in LW after FP2 is released. Lots of candles and grapes and things.

:)

Hmm, it's a pity there's no sasquatch support though, since he manged to integrate G2. I guess it'll come sooner or later.

So it's impossible? Or do you mean furthur changes are needed to the Lw SDK?

It was just meant to be a bit of humour. Nothing more meaningful than that

:argh:

Well, let's hope that the people going nuts with the skin shader and SSS send lots of kind, intelligent, and thoughtful requests to Mr. Worley, to make those parts of G2 even better.

I'll do my part!

I wonder if bypassing LWs renderer entirely now, G2 might actually be useful for raytraced lights and SSS. There was a LW bug which made it virtually useless unless you were using shadowmapped lights.

It also makes me wonder how FPrime 2 will deal with Sasquatch, since that ONLY accepts shadowmaps, which FPrime DOESN'T do (it converts them to raytraced spots).

Interesting times...

i am corious only about 1 feature in fprime 2 .. will it be able to export channels ... according to support of g2 i think it should.

Uhm...
Is it only me, or you guys have also the LW 8.3 Build 800?
Where can we get the Build 801, which will allow Hypervoxels to render with Fprime 2?
Perhaps the Build 801 is not out to the masses officially?
Thanks,

just go to the same place you downloaded 800 and re-download and 801 will overwrite 800

Oups!
I rushed to ask and didn't bother to check THE SOURCE...
It was a while since my last visit to that download page...
Never mind, my last q; Build 801 is coming right now...

I really wish they add audio to the videos, it'd make it easy to follow and understand.

Plus the 3-day sale on G2. :D I hadn't really been interested in G2 before now, but integration with FPrime gives it a whole new appeal. Looks like it's time to dust off the ol' Visa...

I don't think that Fprime needs to be changed to work with Sasquatch, I think that Sasquatch needs to be changed to work with Fprime. Sasquatch needs to be made into a true volumetric plug-in instead of a pixel filter. Which incidentally, would fix that whole no showing in reflections thing...

Aswell as the shadow issue (volumetrics support raytracing). Coding time aside, I wonder what's keeping Worley from doing this if he isn't already?

Coding time aside, I wonder what's keeping Worley from doing this if he isn't already?Er...why put coding time to one side in your question ? At the end of the day, Steve Worley is only one person and there is a limit to what he can be doing at any one time. I would imagine that upgrading FPrime and G2 will have occupied all or most of his coding time over the past few months. Though I'm sure he has been thinking about what is required for Sasquatch 2...when he has time to work on it

Boy, I thought the timetable would be more like:
Release of updated FP and G2.
Worley hailed as genius for a couple of days
Then would come things like "why can't FP see Sas?" and "Worley sucks".

Worley's getting dumped on already with the Sasquatch issue. geez.
Actually, I'm dealing with Sasquatch right now. I'd be thrilled if there was a true volumetric Sasquatch but one thing at a time, I guess.

Well actually Steve is 5 guys (as in Worley Labs)

But I'm not dumping on him for the Sas limitations. The man is pure genius as far as I'm concerned. I was just suggesting that it's not Fprimes limitations that's holding it back from being displaying sas hair, rather, the other way around.
