View Full Version : Wondering which engine i should use...

hello all,

First of all. I didn't know where to post this so if it is misplaced please move it :) I am trying to get a animated short into an engine for making my movies in it. since max dies every single time i try to render such things.

Allthough after 3 nights searching on the internet i couldn't find any engine which is free or a demo with enough options. The things i m looking for is an engine with terrain editor and supporting .3ds format

would really hope to hear from anyone soon and thanks for your time

.3ds file's don't store animation I believe. Moreover, why is max crashing? If your animation is too big or your models are too high poly, then a real time 3d engine will surely choke. But if you are looking for a 3d engine try here:

I don't know much about them, but you can try Panda3d. Its made by my school its fairly easy to learn and it can diffinitely import animations from max.
