Ok , so heres my first posting in the DSG. Thought i would join in as i've got the next 6 weeks free.
It was s'post to be Rowan Atkinson as superman Ž_Ž but half way through he stareted looking like hitler o.O . So any ways it's only a sketch :D
Oh 3 hours and in painter , I got carried away but my images never turn out as i would like, and they are not the neatest ever

Here's mine. Photoshop+Painter. Around 90 minutes. This topic is good for caricature practice.:)
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a244/pipikon/jacknicholsonasbrain.jpg
It's Jack Nicholson as Brain from Pinky and the Brain...
Blue demo - maybe you can make the areas around his eyes darker so his eyes pop out more. Maybe it's just me, but everytime I see Rowan Atkinson, his eyes always pop out so much.o_o

Blue demo: Bean never looked buffer. Beutiful expression. Emphasizing the size of the eyes, as pipichu suggested, would literally make your likeness pop out. Great work. :buttrock:
pipichu: Brilliant combination of characters. The balance of Brain and Nicholson is creepy. Impressive style choice. :bounce:
kaylon: Arnold looks about ready to have a litter. He was pregnant before, of course. Beautiful pastels and figure. Amazing watercolor effect you achieved in photoshop. Arnold hair has a bit of Richard Simmons in it, so you've combined several infamous personalities. A Schitzophrenic Easter Bunny gives out reptile and fish eggs.
I went 2.5D for mine. Two hours in ZBrush, ten minutes in Photoshop, color correcting. Vin Diesel as an Oompa Loompa from Chalie and the Chocolate Factory. Or just some drunken, angry bald guy who thinks he's a leprechaun. Either way:
http://home.earthlink.net/~snowpuppy/VinLoompa1.jpg
Only Johnny Depp seems appropriate for Tim Burton Films. If Arnold and Vin get cast for Edward Scissorhands 2, or The Bride of Sleepy Hollow, then Tim Burton's been hijacked. :D

kaylon - nice linework and coloring. Your linework is so clean. It would be cool to see Schwarzenabbit kicks all the bad guys' butts with his explosive eggs, and says 'Next Easter...I'll be back.'
Then in the inevitable sequel, he comes back to fight the Energizer rabbit.
ravioli - that looks really nice. I've never heard of ZBrush before coming to CGTalk(there's an ad for it). Seems like an interesting software. Yummy chocolate chips in the background, too.:bounce:

Hahah. So funny. Great sketches so far, you all. I had never painted anything Star Wars related before so I thought that here's my chance. May I introduce you Darth Hopkins.

pipichu: For a sketch, mine still reeks of 3d, but ZBrush is great for quickly laying down volume to get a feel for shading. I think most 3d artist use it to add veins and bumps, wheres I'd rather make an object as smooth and simplified as possible. Program works either way. Thank you for the kind words. :)
The Dagger: The Cannibal in Space. Beuatiful likeness. He ought to be showing his teeth, and sucking wind, just to intimidate Clairice Skywalker. Wonderful sketch. :applause:

really cool stuff as usual!
Pipichu, your seem to have really good skill at adapting to different styles (especially your "adverts the way old masters would have done them" sketch!)
and ravioli! Your sketches (maybe not this one:D) only seem to be getting better and better.
Anyway, i read the post wrong first of all. so i just did a portrait to begin with.... then read it right and well this is the only thing i could think of doing without having to start again.
Sheryl Lee / Tetsuo: the iron man. 2 hrs. Painter IX.....

yAdam, thanks for the kind words.:) The Daily Sketch topics are so random it's hard(for me) to stick to one style. It's always trials and errors for me. Sometimes it takes more than one try for me to get a sketch that I'm happy with. Seeing other great entries in the threads also motivates me to try harder so I can be as good as them. It's a daily experiment for me.
I watched the fisrt Tetsuo last year. The movie sorta freaked me out. I also didn't understand what's going on.o_o My friends like scary/creepy asian movies, but I usually try to avoid them because the freaky images would stuck in my head.
Anyway, you did a great job with the metal thingy on her face. I like the way you rendered the hair, too.:)
Speaking of things that freak me out, Hannibal Lector scared the living hell out of me. I had nightmares from watching Hannibal...
TheDagger, you capture Anthony Hopkins's creepy face perfectly. I can imagine Darth Hopkins eats Anakin's face off...o_o Nice reflective lights from the lightsabre, too.

I know what you mean! I havent been participating in dsg for that long, but some of the work is unbelievable for the time spent on them!

Anthony Hopkins version is the one looking most like the original...congrats!
As for the Arnold, I love the style (is it pencil painted over in PS?), only crit is that you left out the 'W' in schwarzenegger!
Funky though!

yAdam: Impressive shading work. Your progress is noticeable as well. And, you don't seem to be making any counterproductive diversions. :D I went a bit too experimental for this sketch, and ended up with a jug of slop. After posting, I realized I didn't actually do anything, but link together a bunch of automatically shaded spheres. Still, I feel Vin Diesel's nose really does looks big on his tiny head. At least in publicity photos. But, from now on, ZSphere sketches are done outlawed. Shame on shortcuts! :banghead:
Don Diego: Tremendous likeness, both of Jack Black, and the Joker. Concept nailed. :bounce:
Erikoinen: Tom Cruise's real name is Thomas Cruise Mapother IV. He's pushing fifty and under six feet tall. Yet, is the highest paid, most recognizeable actor in the world. So, you're sketch pinpoints disproportionate fame. Gorgeous work. :applause:
nuch: :applause: Possibly taken from the archives of the Unedited Version of Pulp Fiction or the unfinished version of Saturday Night Fever: Hollywood Blvd.
three: Rich use of colors, and playful style. De Niro looks about ready to mug somebody, then kick their horse. You talkn' to me, equine?!
reaver_ripper: The epitome of confusing roles. Nice light touch.
ashwin911: Dead-on likeness. Maybe in order to scare people, she just talks about real estate.
createmai: When he's at home, I'm pretty sure Roland Atkinson darts around his apartment like a moth, just to maintain his character. Beautiful color and perspective.
