kewl stuff
and brave for her to attempt (and succeed) in explaining one of the hardest to understand subjects of texturing.

The more texturing info, the better! Thanks for making the time Leigh. Thanks to you guys/gals at Newtek for hosting the tutorials. Hopefully there are still more to come. The goal was 100 right? Why not make the goal 200?

but isn't Radiosity/GI where Ambient light actually helps the most ???

even in conventional lighting setups ambient lighting is not totally useless, otherwise it wouldnt be included as a feature

Hey all :D Glad you enjoyed the tut! More to come (Id better get cracking and finish off the next two, which are almost complete...).

LNT - actually, a little teeny weeny bit of ambient light is okay, but its mostly just a poor mans radiosity solution. It's not that it is useless, it's just that when setting up texturing, it kinda makes things appear flat, and it's hard to get a good idea of the texture when things are appearing flattish.
I wouldn't go above 5% with my ambient amount :)
