View Full Version : Prop: Fuel Pumps

Working on this model at the moment, texturemap 512*512.
Still lots to do on it, hope you like it so far.
C&C are welcome.

I also have a question on broken glass, what would be the best way to create something like that? I added a plane infront of the panel meters, in hopes to create a broken window infront of it. I never did an alpha channel so complex as a broken window, hope anyone can give me a few pointers! =)

An alpha channel would be fine; make any place the glass is missing black, and the rest of it gray. Near the edges you could make it fade to white a bit, to simulate the opacity of gathered dirt.

looks awsome with what you have at the moment.

Funny thing, I need to do this kind of prop as well for my gas station, I'm curious how yours gonna turn out :-)

I like it, looking good so far, is this for an environment your working on, or just a stand alone model?

Mastahful: this is a stand alone model that will be for sale on a yet to be released website, i finished other models for them already recently.

I wanted to test the shattered glass before i went of to bed.
this is what i came up with, crits are welcome

FREAKIN AWESOME! But (there is always a but) the signs on top don't have the same level of "skunge" or age as the rest of the model(s). On something that old and beat up would the signs really be left ontop? Or would they have been knocked off or stolen along time ago? I guess if these pumps are still in use someone might care enough to update the ads ontop of the pumps, but they look like of out of place...

Anywho, looks awsome! Looks like it's ready to be used as a game assest to me!

of course the ADD signs didn't fit yet, it's still a WiP :)

finally after hours and hours of stressing im almost done, all thats left is the side of the "shiney front hood". C&C are appriciated.

Nice work! I love the grunge, it looks genuinely worn/aged/dirty. I think you can afford to throw in a couple of extra edge loops on the hose itself. That's the only part of the model that catches my eye in a negative way; if you can make it look more flexible I think it'll be money...

Toss a tiny bit of rust on those signs and I say you're done! FREAKIN AWESOME MODELS! Perfect pieces for a portfolio *wink

deadboy: yes, you are correct, that is one of the biggest comments i've been getting on it. i'll try and edit that when i'm done with the texturing. I'll post the final model today, it must be done today! :)

well i finally finished it!

I updated the hose, to be more smooth, and i made it overall a bit brighter, since i thought it looked rather dark-isch. Hope you like the changes. I posted it in the "finished work" forum aswell
