View Full Version : laptop buttons doing opposite actions???

For some reason the @ key only comes up when I press shift and 2, and when I press shift and ' it comes up with ". How can keys portray different opposite actions and also how do I sort it out?
This is on a Acer TravelMate 2300.

Its set to use an american keyboard layout, change it to UK in the region settings.

Indeed.. On the US layout shift + 2 creates @ and shift + ' creates "

Thought keyboards were universal everywhere. :eek: (except that some keyboards might have the native letterings, etc.,

LOL... sound like a great idea! :scream: Seriously tho, I really thought keyboards were universal. Guess I'll be spending the next free time I have looking up keyboards from around the world... unless someone does do a 'take a picture of your keyboard' thread.
