View Full Version : Where's the product of the projected spline???
AdamT 10-28-2002, 12:39 PM First, the C key will only make a spline editable if it's a primitive spline to begin with. It won't do anything if you drew the spline yourself. Second, the project spline command doesn't make a second spline--it projects the selected spline. Copy/past the spline first if you want to keep the originial.
Are you sure that the spline hasn't been projected? You won't be able to tell until you rotate the viewport, or look at the object/spline from a different angle in another viewport.
Once projected, you can edit the spline like any other spline, i.e., if it's a primitive make it editable and enter points mode. If it's not a primitive just enter points mode and edit to your hearts content.
As a general rule, you want to do all the editing to the spline *before* projecting. What are you trying to do?

I want an editable spline so as the manual say I use the project spline command on a cube to make it editable. But this is as far as I can get.I don't see any editable spline after that.shouldn't I get a second spline that I can edit or something?
It's infuriating.Manual describes everything about this command and it even shows pictures where you have a second spline projected on the damn object but it doesn't say a word about the result.
Please can someone explain to me the damn command?
Thanks in advance.
Hi,
maybe the spline isn't visible because it's hidden by the cube. Try to move the cube away and have a look. This will happen when the spline has to few points and can not be projected on the object precisely enough. If you only want to convert a parametric spline into a standard spline, then simply press "C".
A copy will not be created either way.
Hope this helps

First things first.Pressing c doesn't do a thing. and second when I use the project spline it projects the original spline not a copy of the original spline. What's going on?

I want to put some rocks and some other stuff on a landscape with a spline projected to the landscape.I want to have the editing option after the projection so that I can tweak the position of the stuff.
Now I'm not at home but as I remember when I switched to the points tool the color of the spline was the same yellow to red color which means no editing.I'll give it a try when I get home.
