View Full Version : Installing plugins..
H. Ikeda 10-28-2002, 12:53 PM Hi,
Could you tell us details about your problem? Has the plugin recognized by C4D? Are there any massages in the Console window? How about Windows XP message?
Installation itself seems to be correct. I'm not sure but it may be due to some file collapse or ID butting or something like that. Otherwise, possibly XP problem.

ok not aware of any problems...i run xp, and 7.3 and i got dirtyNUTs on it fine.
Need more info really:
Are you getting any error messages?
What are the error message youre getting?
Can you tell whether the messages XP related, or Cinema message?
What does your directory tree look like?
DriveLetter>Program Files (whatever)>
MAXON

----------CINEMA_4D_XL_R7

----------Plugins

------------dirtyNUTs

------------Res
Hopefully this held some sort of position above but you get the idea.
Are you just having problems with Cinema? or other software?
Usually the file structure will be retained when extracting, depending on the choice of extract?
Lemme know a bit more and i'm sure we can get you plugin and playin in know time.....

OK, here some details...
i didn't get any error messages what so ever..
here's my directory structure, please note that i did not install maxon in the program files directory of XP !! (could that be the problem??)
d:\maxon\cinema4d\plugins\morphmixer
i also tried to put the files directly into the plugins directory..(didn't work either)..
It just seems that cinema doesn't read the directory although the standard plugins like cinema sdk, explosion effects etc. who are positioned in the same directory do work..
:D :D

Are you using winzip to extract the files? If you are, make sure you have the “Use folder names” box checked when the extract diaglog shows up. If you’ve done that, I have no idea what’s wrong.

Ok....not really sure about this at first i thought morphmixer was something for r8....but this is definitely not the case....you do need the sdk installed by the sounds of it (this maybe just becuase originally it shipped with that though!)....and it sounds like you have that side of things working.
the directory structure looks fine there not likely to be relevant.
I did just try and download morphmixer off another site and couldn't open the archive so....bit confused by it all.
I have managed to get to get a copy of it now (MorphMixer1_0.zip) and i have extracted the file into the plugins directory which in turn created a folder called "MorphMixerFolder" with the "MorphMixer1.0" folder below that....i haven't got the sdk installed on my machine and i can see morphmixer in my plugins list from within cinema and it seems to start up fine.
All I can suggest is I email you the zip i got and give that a try, just remember to remove the old morphmixer directory first....and unzip into plugins directory. however you did mention earlier dirtynuts problems....so it maybe something else underlying.
if you want this file...just email me. hope this helps a little.
