What's happening is, when I import a 3DS file with a texture map applied. The file imports fine with the map intact. But as soon as I go into the material editor to alter the the material, it pops the texture map on the model in face map mode, even though it is not checked in the material editor and I can't get it to pop back to the normal UV map of the model when it was imported.
BTW, I have other CG packages and it only does this in 3DS Max 7. I'm at my wits end.
