Grey scheme and Cinema Pro both produce a warning when starting C4D. Maybe it's R8.5?

I really love the Modo style, thanks.

Thanks Art2,
the scheme was made for 9.1, so it could have issues when used with earlier versions.

Uhm, I dunno if this is allowed, but I hope it shouldnt be a problem:

All credit to the creator of Modo4D (creator ThirdEye?) which is the base of this scheme.
Since I'm gonna lear Softimage XSI aswell, I wanted to get the feel. Though I dunno if it is even close to the same when it comes to the real buttons. And I havnt figured out how to make the folded icons to a button instead which says like "Primitives" instead of the first object, in this case the cube.

Anyway, I've just slighty changed the scheme to this:

http://web.telia.com/~u52221489/scheme.jpg

Which I'll think I'll work in instead of the layout which seems a bit weirdish and cant possibly be user-friendly heh, but it looks a bit like XSI's:
http://web.telia.com/~u52221489/layout.jpg

So anyway, hope I dont get flamed for this, and enjoy:

RAR: http://web.telia.com/~u52221489/softimage_xsi.rar

Sipro: Just extract the Modo4D zip and put the Modo4D folder into your \resource\schemes folder of your C4D install. Then in your preferences panel of C4D it will appear as an option.

How do you get back the default colors after messing around with preferences?

Srek
12-27-2005, 07:54 PM
In worst case by simply deleting (or renaming to test what will happen) the prefs directory.

12-28-2005, 02:11 AM
So if the whole prefs directory is deleted, I assume C4D recreates it?

Srek
12-28-2005, 06:28 AM
Correct, in this case the factory defaults kick in and are saved in a new prefs folder.
Cheers

Hi folks

how do you save these schemes if I want to have them for future installs after I tweak them?

thx

Per-Anders

Just move/zip up the folder in your schemes folder. That contains all the scheme information you should need.

lmederos
08-04-2006, 10:38 PM
sorry

my question was unclear

how do I set up a scheme (so I can then save it)? in other words, if I have a layout and color setup that I want to keep, how do I define the files required to form a scheme ( the .col, .res files)? I have not found a way to generate them and Maxon Tech Support could not tell me either

thx

Per-Anders
08-04-2006, 10:43 PM
It's automatically saved. The scheme is set up in the scheme folder, all the color etc become a aprt of that scheme, so when you copy that scheme folder you are copying that scheme as you have it set up.

The layout is a different thing to the scheme (a scheme is a skin, a layout is the organisation of your menus and windows) and you can save that either from the Window->Layout menu, or just by copying out your preferences from the prefs folder in your Cinema 4D folder.

lmederos

thank you !

I was able to find the modified .col file under /prefs

so I copied to another folder under resources/scheme with the other files of the scheme I modified and can now switch at will between schemes

very helpful

but then... what are the .res files for? schemes pack this file but don't seem to affect the displayed scheme

Always annoyed when working at night and you opened the help in C4D and got your eyes blown out by the white background? Not only that, but you also have to try to read that darn small text? Well, those times are over now! ;)

Those help files are just written in html, and its colors are controlled within a .css-file. So, we only have to replace that with our own. This file is located under MAXON\CINEMA 4D R11\help\files named wickie.css. I'm certain you don't want to go through all the hassle and start editing that file yourself, since it reeeeally can drag on to get everything right. So you can just use mine! Here are some preview screenshots:

http://ik.tabularaza.de/c4d/darkc4dhelp01.png
http://ik.tabularaza.de/c4d/darkc4dhelp02.png
http://ik.tabularaza.de/c4d/darkc4dhelp03.png
http://ik.tabularaza.de/c4d/darkc4dhelp04.png
http://ik.tabularaza.de/c4d/darkc4dhelp05.png
http://ik.tabularaza.de/c4d/darkc4dhelp06.png

Looks suitable for you? Just download http://ik.tabularaza.de/c4d/darkhelp.zip and put that in the directory I wrote above. I don't know if that's also working for the MAC-people, sorry. Also you need the font Calibri installed on your system (comes with Vista), or you need to replace it with one of your own in that wickie.css file.

If you find some text in the help file that doesn't match with the rest, or some other suggestions, just leave me a note here, and I'll fix it.

A general question about schemes in C4D:

I've noticed that it can be quite weird if you use bitmaps in your own scheme.

Let's say you make use of a bitmap with a gradient (top lighter than the bottom, size 20x20px) applied to the "Palette Background".
The bitmap is not fitting to every single icon and it looks more like a frontal projected pattern:

http://www.okazaky.de/temp/icons.jpg

Is it possible to "map" these bitmaps to fit?

Hey guys, looking around I found this http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=94&t=464689&page=2&pp=15 which looks great and even though I follow the instructions in there I can´t install it on r11, so anybody who managed to do it and wants to help an ignorant fellow.. I´ll appreciate it. Thanks

MY BAD: IT WAS ALMOST THE SAME PROCEDURE YOU JUST DON´T GET CONFUSED BY THE FACT THAT THERE IS NOT A PREFS FOLDER IN R11 AND DON´T FORGET TO MAKE A BACKUP OF THE ICONS

I played a little with the Netrender HTML files
and Updated them to look like the current Maxon CI for R11

Hopefully you like it.
You can Download it here (http://www.der-automat.blogspot.com/)

Installation:

Copy the folder "html" into the "resource" Folder of your NETRender R11 Server directory and replace the original. Make a backup first.

Its a beta and this Interface mod and comes without any warranty.
