I've gotta say, this is one of the nicest animation reels that's been in these forums in a while.
The only cringe-worthy moment was when the green box guy's arm goes through the box he's pushing. I'd seriously think about fixing that if I were you!
Otherwise, nice looking stuff! Good luck with the job hunt :)

thanks alot ivanisavich!
I've been to your site a while back, I must say I was very very impressed
with your animations, I think you are one of the best animators, I've seen here for a while!
I just' re-visited your site, the high-dive animation is EXCELLENT!
regarding the green man arm's penetrating, unfortunaly I lost the project,
and all I got is this render... (it was for an xsibase.com contest)
you can donwload the original wireframe I sent to the contest,
there's an animators joke in there, that is not shown in this render..
I think becuase it's kind of an animation test, it's not that of a problem if the arm penetrates
the cube a bit... maybe I am wrong... I dont want to take this animation out.. and I cant
fix it :(
Actually you are the fourth of fifth person remarking this problem..
maybe I'll loose it after all.... we'll see.... :)
anyway thanks again!

Hey man....thanks for the compliments ;)
But just to continue on that point...even if you have lost the file, I'd still suggest taking it out then. A potential employer wants to see a polished reel...and such an obvious bug could potentially turn them off. Now....since the rest of your reel is quite nice that might be doubtful, but you don't want to take that chance! :)
nice work, i really enjoyed that!
The arm issue didnt bother me that much because the weight was still definately there and the animation was working. Maybe you could just censor it ? hehe jk
07-23-2005, 03:53 PM
keeping that box push animation only hurts your reel doesnt help it in any way.
07-23-2005, 05:17 PM
:bounce: very nice
I think you could land a job anywhere with this reel ;)
And the green Arm glitch you could do without. The other material is superb imo

Very good reel CoolCalb, Loved it!
I think it has a good flow, I wasnt bored for one second.
I recognized alot of the things from other forums you posted and conferences they were played at, liked them then and liked them now even more combined together and with cool sound.
The car shot was awesome.
I do think there were some pieces you could easily give up like the naked fat man and the guy interacting with the ball. design wise and animation wise they were weaker than the rest of the good stuff you have there.
I dont agree with what was beeing said here, I think the green man shows really good animation abilities.
Good stuff man!
Apply to the big ones ;) !
07-23-2005, 06:48 PM
you modeled everything too?
07-23-2005, 06:48 PM
Front page ! Congrats
Amazing reel Oz, first time I see the car, It looks very good.
07-23-2005, 06:48 PM
Fantastic work Oz !. I don't think you should have much problems to get a job with this ;)
07-23-2005, 06:59 PM
Amazing work Oz!
I agree with the others concerning the arm shot, I would take it out. If your reel was comprised merely of rough playblasts then I would say leave it in, because it does show good weight, however since most of the rest of your reel is so polished, it stands out in a negative way. Besides, you have so much great stuff on there you can stand to cut some out. You only want to show your best work, never leave anything in that will cause the viewer to question the consistency of quality in your work.
By the way, that car shot was superb, best animated car I think I've seen. Great job! :buttrock:

Very nice, and much better with that new soundtrack ( I remember your reel on xsibase with that old annoying music )
07-23-2005, 08:12 PM
Fantastic stuff. I like the use of subtitles, it helps pull everything together. Great job.
07-23-2005, 08:13 PM
looks like your account has been suspended... bummer.

This account has been suspended.
Either the domain has been overused, or the reseller ran out of resources.

Truely great and inspiring. I bet you're proud of the fact that you got plugged in the front page.
You know I dig your work, but the car shot and the rabbits which I haven't seen yet are truely marvelous.
Anyway, why is everybody hoping you get a job? Aren't you working at broadcast?
Or are you planning on trying your luck at the other side of the ocean?
Anyway Good luck, because besides luck, you're practically there.
07-23-2005, 08:19 PM

07-23-2005, 08:39 PM
I removed it, if you can find mirrors and such, I'll replug it.
07-23-2005, 09:15 PM
Hey Oz, thought you deserved a little more time up on the old front page, so here's a mirror to the QT zip:
My bandwidth isn't unlimited though so if it gets close to the monthly limit I'll have to take it down...
P.S. folks, Oz is still looking for people that could help with mirrors, if anyone has bandwidth spare...
07-24-2005, 03:39 AM

but never got to see it there.. hehe
Mattmos, thank you SO much... I hope your site wouldnt get blasted as well...
and I hope mine will be back up soon...
I am digging in my backups now.. trying to find the green guy project, so I can fix his arm...
If I dont find it.. I'll take it out..
thank you everyone, again
07-24-2005, 01:30 PM
Yeah, I just watched this, and it was really awsome!
Great work, and the animation movements are so fluid. Do you work for a company, freelance, or are you looking for a job?
Great stuff man, just wonderful!
07-24-2005, 02:02 PM
neiy0: I work for a post production company, I am not looking for a job, but I try
to have an updated reel, every year... who knows.. :)
thoughtcriminal: the rabbits were not aired on TV yet, so please keep it shhhhh... :)
the Citroen DS car, is just something I did in my spare time.. not an ad.
I still work at Broadcast, and I dont have intentions to leave, but I am
going to Siggraph next Saturday, and I must have a reel with me.. you know
Ranimate: I "apply" as a character animator, so I think design wise, it's not that important
that the naked fat man, and others, are not well designed.. many things on my
reel, were not designed or modeled by me, but I animated them all :)
LoneWolf: some of the stuff was all done by me, some I just animated, or also did some
I've finally found the green man Project (it was even on my hardisk, hiding in a temp Database... :) I fixed the arm, and am rendering it right now.. :)

07-25-2005, 09:09 AM
Hey Stipen... long time :)
Thanks alot!, how are you?
I had a "tough" year.. alot of work.. mostly regular ads, but quite a few character
work is not ending even now.. I have a flight to L.A this saturday (to Siggraph)
and there's a good chance, I'll have to take a laptop, and finish a project
I just started, on the plane, or in the hotel... that s@cks...
I should stop complaining :scream:
my site is down due to bandwidth limitations (17GB Transfer in 4 hours...)
it will be up in a couple of days...
07-25-2005, 03:39 PM
MY site is back up ! :bounce:
