He's added some production art/ screenshots from the movie etc. See link above.
His film has been an inspiration to me, because he didn't model/rig everything, he comped alot painted alot of the backgrounds himself. Also he filmed alot of explosions, making sacks of flower explode and looking for what he could use in the film. Al because he like me isn't all that technical, but is very creative on how he finds solutions for his problems. Anyways check out the art and snapshots. UGH!
A friend of mine saw the short at the amsterdam filmschool. where it was shown between the main movies. He was enthousiastic about the backgrounds and atmosphere, but not so about animation and storyline.
As you can see in the trailer, the characters are moving quite spastic and are not textured or what so ever...pretty obvious to (practically) show only the backgrounds in it!
Nothing special to look forward to i would say...

rather strong critique coming from someone who did not even watch the film, but has a friend who watched the movie...

derek i do not find your post to be very constructive. esspecially since you yourself have not seen the film in it entire form. i become very curious as to why you need to comment on this in this thread.
kind regards

Ok, I'm sorry...Bad joke!
I was hoping for a reaction from Sem Assink himself.
I graduated on the same school, same year and thought this might be a funny way to "stab him in the back". Since that is what we always did during our study. But before I do real damage, I have to correct some things;..
I' ve seen the animation several times and it is indeed very good. Although the director himself isn't that funny, he managed to create a very funny animation. The atmospheric backgrounds totally represent the animation itself (just as good). Just like other partcipants in this thread already concluded; The mix between the detailed, atmospheric backgrounds and the cartooney characters works very nice, according to a couple of hundred people who visited the graduation festival.(including me).
I hope y'all be able to see it in the future
Once again, I'm sorry for my stupid action and I won't bother y'all again
