Hey all,

I've suddenly taken interest in 3d modeling and animation again... I come from an artistic background... went to a arts high school, then studied graphic design in college, and ended up working as a sys admin?!?!

So I picked up "Introducing Maya 6" and "Learning Maya 6 Foundation". Is there any other books or DVDs/Sites you'd recomend? As great as these 2 books are, I find that the second one, is just step by step with barely to no explanation as to why your doing things...

Sure, I can now do most of the stuff in the books, but, if I was to try to do something based off a sketch, I'm not sure I'd know where to start.

Anyways, just wanted to introduce myself.

Thanks, I've been looking at that one, and several stores in town have it, may have to go pick it up this weekend.
