Well, I know It's not very detailled, but I don't really know how to continue on this one, and It's my big probleme for now. I've started colouring in photoshop for not too long and don't know how to continue when I arrive at this point of my work...

I like the sketchy look he still has, for this one it doesn't bothers me, but if someone has any suggestions of how I should continue and refine my work, please, say it :)

And the fact is that is this is done quite rapidly... Maybe I should work longer on it... maybe on the next one

I have the same problem with trying to make work look "finished".
I'd say on this painting though, that the sketchy line work showing through the coloring contributes to the unfinished look that you were mentioning. Don't get me wrong, I like the sketchy look of this. But, you might need to get rid of the lines to make it look like a polished, finished work. Just a suggestion:beer:

I have taken the liberty of painting over your robot. I hope you don't mind. This is what I came up with:
http://senile.et.tudelft.nl/roel/external/robotemp.jpg

Most of this was done with the brush. The highlights are airbrush, obviously. Photoshop 5.5.

I like the finished look better. I hope you agree.

I love looking at tutorials like this... just to get a glimpse of the workflow of others is a great way to learn, and pick up new techniques and tricks. Please do continue; hopefully this will encourage others to do likewise.

:surprised wow, roel, you sure have skill... what you did is just great... And I have to admit yours looks better  , And I understand you... but my colored version was more like a 'very rapid coloring' of a sketch, leaving that sketchy look. But I Think I'll begin to try to do some more detailed and clean work.

thx fireman and loganx3d, I'll try to do another tutorial as soon as I got a good sketch done and this time I'll try to make it look finished, :p

I've tried to make it look 'finished' and that's what I came with :

(well, the background sucks, I know :) )
Hope you all like this one better... anyway, I'm tired of this robot :), I'll try something else...

loss of limb? Nice tutorial, good to see how others work, this is not a method I've ever even thought about trying. OK, so maybe I've been in a cave....... May have to try this. The image turned out good, I like the updated version except for the amputation thing, maybe some wires and junk coming out of the stump would help?

tkx for the replies

Well.. that Arm... the fact is that I just didn't like that arm. So I cuted it off :wip: , I know, It's a bit drastic.

Sleepless : You never though about trying this method... That makes me wonder, what method do you use for your paintings ?? (by the way, your style is quite amazing).

And I added these wires you talked about (done rapidly :) )

cheeers :wavey:
