View Full Version : Something like Cactus Dan's Spline IK with Xpresso?
Theropoda 07-22-2005, 10:37 AM hi,
i would need something like the amazing CD Spline IK. Just for aligning bones on a spline, and the bones should keep their length.
is there something like this? maybe with xpresso? i would buy the CD IK Tools, but can't afford them at the moment... i'm just a poor student, always lacking money
cheers

hi,
thanks for your reply, i've been searching now for the splone xpression, but every download link seems to be dead.
could you please send it to me if you find it? that would be so great! my e-mail is: salem2002@gmx.net
i already have the free CD IKRP Solver from Cactus Dan; a VERY helpful tool, but for spline rigging it doesn't do the job... are there any other free tools by cactus?
thanks in advance

I have to say I just bought the CD tools bundle and within a few days I have a great bit of character anim that I am really happy with. I just couldn't do this with Mocca at all. I did try but I found it far too complicated. I used the CD IK set up tool and hey presto it just works. Also some of the constraint expressions are just invaluable. It just makes the process of setting up a character far easier, and to a large extent transparent in use.
If you can I'd try and save up it really will change the way you go about things with character animation

If you're planning to much in the way of CA with C4D, Cactus Dan's tools will be with worth the $150 bundle price to you. They make rigging a stable rig *a lot* easier. A lot cheaper than adding Alias MotionBuilder to your workflow.

P.S. If you think there should be better CA Tools in C4D for a future release, let them know: http://maxon.net/pages/support/suggestions_e.html
