View Full Version : Little amd X2 review.
c4dportal 07-22-2005, 02:01 AM I've written a small AMD X2 review :)
Hopefully it will be of use to some of you as it discusses this relatively new cpu and compares it to dual cpu solutions etc.
If you spot any mistakes, I'd be glad to hear about 'm (not spelling or grammar :P )

There's some Mac scores out there in the usual place:

I think this is currently the best one:
G5 Dual 2.7GHz Radeon 9650 OSX 10.4.1 CB1 =384 CBX=701 OGL=1688
I get a little better OGL with my x800, but nothing to write home about. :)

Interesting article. A few of the graphics didn't show up (like the price list). You mention that the x2 4400+ can be overclocked. Have you tried, or have you seen OC reports?

I just bought an X4200..... and I wish I would have spent the few extra Euros and bought the x4400, after seeing the CB tests
( CB of 700+ compared to my 'little' ca.590...)

Most general X2 reviews mention being able to overclock around 300/400 mhz.
I will include some overclocking benchmarks today..not going to stress it too high though as I don't want to fry my system.
I'll let you know once the results have been added.
Some gfx are PNG. It might be that your browser doesn't support it.
Thanks for the comments.

Cool! I'm hesitant to break up my all-Intel network (well--only 3 machines), but it might be worth it for the price/performance you've shown. Thanks again.
