View Full Version : Sony HDR-FX1 Mini DV Digital Camcorder
vonbon 07-22-2005, 01:00 AM If I'm going to spend money on a Sony HDR-FX1 Mini DV CAM. Is there a better camera for that price?

there was a discussion earlier about which camera should I buy.
in this post there was this link

after reading the whole thing it kinda pushed me away to even think about the FX1, but you might have a different opinion from this site.

It depends on what you want to film. We have alot bluescreen footage coming for the next produciton so we'll use Sony's Z1E (Similar to FX-1) to gain from the HDV resolution. Getting a good key from DV Fottage is a pain in the :argh:
The dropouts on HDV/Mpeg footage really suck on fast motion but on production where we can reshoot a take it shouldn't be that bad.
Till now we just played around with the cam, looked at the features. I'll post any experience I make.
