---------------------

Hi,
This is my first attempt to model an entire human body, being the closest as possible to reference pictures I used (found at www.fineart.sk).
Now I have the hardest parts to model : hands, feet, ears, and overall improvements.
Thanks for comments.

this is good for your first attempt. the eyes look too far apart, and the stomach looks a bit flat.
her neck also looks too small in comparison too her upper torso. good start.

dang right that's a good start.

it would help us, help you, however, if you cost post orthographic views for the front and three/quarter images. your angled shots make it hard to check proportions.
name_less's critiques, as far as i can see are valid. i think when you thicken up the next is's going to be a big improvement. your breasts and knees seem to be quite good, real looking and i always have issues with those. if you are modeling to rig, you may want to raise her arms slightly, but i'm not certain about rigging stuff.
one word on the 3d.sk models: he has provided a valuable resource, but you have to careful using it. sometimes the postures differ on the girls from differing viewpoints. just be aware of that 'cos it can eff up your modeling. this girl looks a teensy bit round shouldered, which i know some of them are. just not sure if you want your model to be.

keep it up,

Cleveland.

udapted with orthographic views.
Thanks for your comments.
Well you're right the postures on the pictures are slightly differents, but it's ok.
I enlarged her neck a bit, but I still have some work to do on it (later on...).
I used two differents pictures for the body and the head, that's why the "connection" may be not perfect for the moment...
Regarding the distance between the eyes, it's exactly the same as the reference picture so I won't change this.

Regards,

these are the very first test renders. No bump map and ref map yet.
Eyes are definitely not ok, eyebrowns are just painted, but I'm quite happy with the overall look.
Et voilą.

Now I've got to find a way to make the lashes and some real-looking eyebrowns with blender... I don't know how to do this yet. Any ideas ?

Nice work so far but her face looks flat. Are you using a ref...?

Now she's got eyelids... wich was not so difficult to make, but was veeery long.

Do you suggest I should enhance the bump mapping ? For the moment, there is no ref map, but I'm not sure this would make the skin look less "flat". Anyway I'll give it a try.

I believe ogar was mentioning "flat" as in perspective view, i.e. let's check out the lower lip, it's almost vertical flat, also overall face shape.
Ogar also asked if you use a "reference" picture, so all the viewers can find out if the shape of the face suppose to look like that.

Now for my C&C :
hmm, howbout reduce the glossiness and speculars ? And yes, bump is a very very good idea.

Eyebrows ==> get a good high res detailed pic, use image:calculations (I'm in PS7) to create an alpha channel for a mask.

As I couldn't find any special tool to achieve good hair with blender (tried fiber, particules...), I used simple planes with alpha map. The result, though not fantastic, is quite satisfying. I believe it is possible to improve it a lot with different tweakings (didn't spent much time on hair material...).
Oh, by the way, at the moment her hairstyle is just improvisation.
And I definitely need to make a good bump map (this is just simple procedural bump).

Yes, I'm using very low-res ref from www.3d.sk...
