View Full Version : THE COMIC STRIP : Gott Aevil?

It certainly helped a lot (at least for me) to have Kirt's comic thread open early the last time we went through this, so I'm opening mine early to work out the details and try to help people who might not be clear on one thing or another. I'd also like to experiment with the banner idea (http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?t=258630&page=2&pp=15), so here we go. The thread naming convention for the Comic Strip has also changed, so my old thread for this comic should be considered defunct.

The story:
Dr. Gottfried von Aevil is a super-genius bent on total rule of the planet. There are only two things that stand in his way:





People are, on everage, too stupid to understand his 1042 perfectly valid reasons why he should rule the planet with an iron fist.
Captain Amazing, defender of truth, protector of the weak, voted super hero of the month by Time magazine!

That's it for tonight. I've had a long day and I'll post Dr. von Aevil's vixen and Captain Amazing's resident genius tomorrow along with the first strip and sketches of the next few. And dammit, I forgot to color the Cap'n's belt.





I'll never say that any of this isn't terribly cliché, but I will note that I think I can pull off the presentation of the stripwithout venturing into "completely stupid" territory. Credit goes to my brother for some stuff he won't quit bugging me about.

Love the name of the Evil Genius! Both the shortened version and his full title. And the tag line's cool "Genius. Evil Genius"

And a good idea getting started early. I think i might start a new wthread and do the same!

Let's hope the COMiC STRiP gets a load more particpants this time around!!

Hmm, things are slow-going. I didn't want to edit the original post any more than I have, so here's a new message to bump the thread back up to the first page.

I'm blocking in colors for the vixen right now, but here's a pretty good version of what she's going to look like:

I'm not going to bother doing anything with the face on this picture since you can't see most of it. She's going to have hair covering one eye (for reasons you'll definitely find out later) and her face is going to be reminiscent of Andy H's Bunny/Office Girl with big eyes and a kind of rounded jaw line. What can I say, I love the look. :D I'm open to suggestions for a fitting name.

Captain Amazing's gadget designer and all-around genius dude is probably going to be up later tonight along with the fully-colored vixen.

I've decided to wait till things really get moving on Friday to post the first strip, which, by the way, now has a much-improved punchline.

Looking good Swizzle... unbelievably close to my image of a supervillian haha, great minds I suppose.

Definitely keep it up with this, it looks to be a good one! :thumbsup:
