This is the first project where I am going through the motions to correctly sufface the character. Any comments of suggestions would be welcome. I plan on using the mes smooth modifer after I Correctly UV the character.

I'm really new to this myself but I'm pretty sure you might want to have the head and body on seperate texture sheets since typically you'd like more detail in the face. Although I guess it wouldnt really make a difference if the image file was large enough. Like I said I'm new at this too.

One thing I'm pretty confident on though is that you have the UV's broken up into way to many pieces. The more uv's you have seperate from each other, the more seems your going to have to cover up.

Yeah. I completely understand what you mean by the UV map being to broken up to work with. I am in the middle stiching all these things together manually before I even think about painting the maps for this character.
