Hi, I have been working on this one from time to time and trying to make it better. I got rid of that human being throttled. I have added some blue light source from the left and tried to make anatomy good.
Any suggestions on how to improve this? What about the light and the cloak?
Thanks

I just love this forum... Until I post something realy special, noone replies... and that's the best motivation I know... so... I will "flood" this thread with new and new images until someone replies and tell me that it looks really bad. If I'll be lucky, he also point out whats so bad and I will be able to improve it...
So for now... I know it's still crap... :lightbulb

anatomywise - i like it.
nice texture on the face

i'd suggest working on the colours tough,
how about adding more different hue's to the image,
right now your'e just using quite flat colours.
(and for instance, the blue light coming from the left side should be worked on,
it doesn't seem to have any effect on the red coat, and in the face it feels very lifeless,
so maybe try going for highlights in that area)

oh and i nearly forgot, that may be what you want it to look like,
but the way the red coat "falls" doesn't seem quite right.

keep going :)

Sorry, sir. Hope you haven't been waiting long. . .

The image looks pretty good, but I don't feel the . I'm not sure if you drew the image first and just called it "Evil Superman" or if you thought, "I'm going to draw an evil Superman today." First off, would an Evil Superman wear bright primary colors? Would Evil Superman just stand there looking surly or would he be off committing evil deeds, or at least plotting them? I can imagine Evil Supes wearing major bling and surrounded by a harem of beautiful women from around the world. Or maybe he's busy reversing the time stream so he can pillage China with Ghengis Khan. A nigh-invulnerable character with tremendous power suddenly becomes evil. That deserves a bit more thought than this.

As for the drawing itself, I like the way you've done the cape. It's very fluid and the highlights are well done. I like that you put his logo on his arm -- reminds me of a Nazi arm band, and that's totally evil. I'm not fond of the buzz cut but I can't suggest anything better at the moment.

Cheers for staying with this in light of not getting crits for so long. Unless you're set on finishing this specific pose I'd love to see some quick sketches of ES committing evil deeds so we can get juiced up about this as a concept. No offense intended, of course. Just throwing out (I hope) helpful ideas.

Thanks a lot... I'll work more on the coat and those falls... and I'm interested in those different hues but I don't know what do you mean... and how to achieve that effect. Anyway - thanks a lot for your input!

I wasn't sarcastic or ironic... I really thought that when noone replies, it looks baaad. And... I WAS waiting very long... for about 2 months or so?

Sorry, I work in customer service and don't like to keep people waiting. It was my attempt at humor. :) BTW, I've updated my post in the last few minutes and hope it's more helpful than annoying.

Thanks a lot to you too! And you are right! I was just sketching... trying to paint what comes to my mind and after an hour or sou I looked at ti and thought: Evil Superman might come out of this. I know - he isn't i some special pose, the idea is really bad... it's just something like portrait.
I'll try to make his suit and coat look more evil :)

Some improvements on coat and body... I have to add more detail, work on lighting - especially on his coat, gun and body.

Great picture so far

I notice that the face seems "smoother"/more worked through than the body - are you planning on working over the body some more? It just seems that the brush strokes are corser the further down the picture you move.

How are you finding working with tablet+gimp? I have considered giving gimp a try but was a bit reluctant as i've never seen much work done with it - yours is the best i've seen so far!

You are absolutely right. I have painted the head and spent most of the time on it. Now the body and coat aren't finished. So I have to work mor on it. Thanks for support.

The gimp answer: I'm on linux box and I foud it pretty much the same to work in gimp like in any other software (photoshop) with tablet. Didn't find any weakness in GIMP :wip:
