This is not a "my app is better than yours" - so calm down.
A quick question and answer to those veteran Maya users out there...
I'm trying to figure if there is a majority of Maya users who:-
1) Before they knew Soft XSI, Soft 3d, 3dsmax and Lightwave which one looked most appealing... both superficially and in the guts of it?
2) And IF after you went on to learn them... which one did you end up prefering the most and why?
Likewise I'm going to ask the same questions in the 3dsmax and Softimage threads:
If they learnt that particular app first and they were going on to learn another - which was most appealing etc.
