Hey!

Does anyone know how new Geforce cards behave speedwise in the 2D apps like Photoshop and Painter. For example I have Geforce 3 Ti 200 at the moment and am considering upgrading to 6600GT. I know that I can expect a considerable speed boost in 3D apps and games. How about 2D apps? Is Photoshop or Paiter also that faster?

Like rendering 3D images, rendering 2D images (photoshop, etc) is ram/CPU intensive. The video card does not assist in this operation, it merely displays the image that the CPU has calculated on the screen.

2D performance really hasnt changed in the last few years, its all about the same. However, quality changes from card to card, and manufacturer to manufacturer..
