View Full Version : Fracture and object by Pfragment?
Exactly how do you turn an object into particles to fracture by Pfragment?
The process is to make it into a group you then pass on to Pfragment node from Ppass node, or something?
Yes I've read the manual and all, just can't figure it out sorry.

First off, getting PFragment to work is kind of difficult. Its setup is not intuitive by any means. What you need to do is make sure there is a Particle Geometry object created in the scene. After that create a Xpresso expression with a PBorn node, which controls how many particles the PFragment node will be able to create. Pass the Particle Birth output of this node to a PShape Node and a PGroup node. The PShape should be the object that you want to fragment, while the PGroup is going to be passed to the Fragment node so it can fragment the geometry. Using a PPass node pass the group assigned in the PGroup node to the Particle Input of the PFragment node. Pass the Born Particle Output of the PFragment node to a new PGroup node. You can now control the fragmented particles through this group.
Also, in the settings of the PFragment node make sure that the Threshold value is lower than 1 (i.e 0.9). Depending how many particles are generated from the PBorn node the PFragment node can get a little slow. HTH

Check out Paul Selhi's video tutorial in the Tute section up above. It made it all so easy for me.
Along with your explanation and the tuts from Paul Selhi I think I'm starting to see the system for me, THanks
