Hi
3DMax7/Mental Ray renderer.

Have a signboard in the shaddows using a daylight system, behind the letters is a self illuminating plane (standard material). The exposure control knocks out the illumination. I have unchecked advanced lighting and cast recieve shaddows in the render properties dialogue for the plane,.... still no illumination.

Anyone know how to get illumination working?

Thanx.

depends what version of max you have but there is an easy fix - i think in max 6 or 7 the output map was added (its the same as the output rollut in most other maps) add this if its available and up the rbg level - if output max isnt there just add a map that has one like bitmap and put the map that is the colour you want in it and up the rbg level
