wazzap everyone,
Ok my new project is this.
Im going to make a robot very like the robots from the movie ; I, robot.

first time making one though, I got some issues stright away with modelling.

I just want someone to tell me good methods of modelling robotic arms/legs/head/body etc.

think like this, what i am after is a body(shell) and inside the "shell" i got these wires and stuff. I can manage those pretty good but I cant get the "shell" looking good compare to the other parts of the body.

hope you will understand what im talking about?

the shell could be a cage and the viewer could manage to see the wires underneath. Or Visualising parts of the human anatomy as it were a robot, the rib cage is external and mettalic and the chest or shell has multiple hinges in the sternum closing its upper torso. Model nuts and bolts. Use Parts from the cage, shell, and innards to fabricate voltrons limbs, than, you should be set stewy.

are you using max if yes there is one shell modifier prior i will advice you to look at digital tutors female android modelling cd
if you can't buy it just browse some free tuts from cd

meanwhile do go for polgon modelling for body and nurbs for wires
